About this course
As humans, we all know that it is normal to experience various emotions. We experience emotions all the time, from the moment we wake up in the morning until the time when we need to rest at night. Nevertheless, despite how often we use and refer to the term emotions, often time, we find it difficult to understand our emotions, let alone handle them. Too often, we might even wish that we could stop experiencing them, especially the negative ones. However, is it really useful to do that? Think of emotions as waves of energy that flow through our bodies and communicate to us. We are built to feel a full spectrum of core emotions such as anger, fear, joy, sadness, excitement, and disgust. These emotions help us as a human to navigate towards our life challenges. The main question is, what are emotions and how can we utilize them to our advantage? In this course, we will explore and discuss how to do that.
Demonstrate understanding of concepts and theories related to emotions as well as its challenges, misconceptions, importance and benefits;
Explain the various practices, habits, and tools that can be used in improving emotional awareness;
Apply several recommended practices to build and maintain a habit of being emotionally aware;
Evaluate emotions and create a learning implementation plan to improve skill in understanding and regulating emotions;
Track progress in developing better understanding of emotional awareness.
Syllabus
The course is structured into three stages: Pre-Course Learning, Core Learning, and Post-Course Learning. Pre-Course Learning is divided into four modules while Core Learning is segmented into 4 modules. Post-Course Learning has four modules as well, with an additional two wrapping-up modules.
